I Need Help Uploading Pictures/Videos?

my phone model is the LG Versa. I am trying to upload a video on my laptop. I have a USB cord, and i plug it in and everything. When I go to the devices thing on my laptop, it won't let upload them. it says that my device is 'unavailable'. I can't email the video because its too long :P What am I supposed to do to get them on there? help please!!!
