I can't find music that's 'right' for me?

I'm hooked on my parent's music lol. The Beatles, The Doors, The Rollling Stones, 50's & 60's R&B, all of it is wonderful. Some people may not find that 'One Band'. I listen to everything I possibly can but have learned that the oldies are the goldies but that's just my personal preference. I can't say that I have on band I like over the other instead I have phases, for a while I might listen to nothing but The Beatles, then for awhile nothing but Tom Petty or Pink Floyd...music should speak to you and not always with words, it can speak to you in sound, emotion etc...I find a lot of modern music fails to invoke any kind of physical or psychological emotion in me. There are some good bands/artists out there I really admire like Adele or Cee Lo Greene but most of it to me is like 'Wallpaper'...you walk in the room, you notice it then after awhile you forget it's there.
