Protein and Blood in dog's urine but infection gone?

We've been fighting a bladder infection in both our dogs for the past month. First noticed blood in our spayed husky's urine and found she had infection was put on antibiotics had our male pom mix checked out and he also had infection. After a month of antibiotics bacteria is gone but we had to do blood work on the husky because her urine was diluted and white blood cells where still a little high. However they didn't want any bloodwork done on the male pom even though he still had protein and blood in his urine. The vet is closed and won't call me back tell Monday with blood test results for the husky. Why would they want bloodwork on her and not the other? Already had an ultrasound done on the male as a precaution and everything looked normal. I know best answers will come from the vet but i am just seeking any additional info I can get so I don't worry too much over the wkend.
